Let's Catch Up

Hi hi hi! It's been way too long since my last blog post! Life got crazy and well, my ability to juggle 8000 things at once was just not there for a while. But, I'm back and I thought it would be a good chance to catch up and share what I've been up to lately! So let's get into it!

First, I'm back in school! This fall I began my Master's program at the University of Vermont, studying Higher Education and Student Affairs! So far, it's been great to be back in the classroom - but I'm not going to lie, juggling full-time work with school has been tricky. That's why I've decided to go back as a part-time student. I'm so grateful I'm able to keep my full-time job while working toward my Master's degree, but it's a lot. I'm still trying to learn how to balance everything. Once I sort of figure it out, I'll definitely share all of my tips and tricks! Despite it being a little stressful trying to balance everything, I'm super excited to learn as much as I can about higher education and student affairs! It's a great feeling to use what I learn in class in my workplace and vice versa!

Next up - I've got a new job! Well, a new position! I'm now working as an admissions counselor and loving every single minute of it! It's definitely a huge adjustment - especially with traveling for 5 weeks this fall, but it feels great to be able to continue to work on my skills and work in a field I am so passionate about! I feel so fortunate to have such an incredible group of coworkers who have been so supportive of my move to this position! I've talked about it before, but having a work environment where you feel respected and supported is something that I cannot imagine working without! It really makes the biggest difference! There will for sure be a lot of work-related content on the way so stay tuned for all of that!

Full disclosure, I meant to get back on track with blogging around October or November. But as we all know, life has a funny way of shifting your priorities. This fall quickly became one of the most challenging seasons of my life. Not just because of work and class, but because my grandmother was sick and sadly passed away at the beginning of December. This stress, sadness, and overall emotional experience took front and center and I decided my family and all that we were going through was by far more important than blogging.

Despite this immense grief - which I will touch on in later posts because I think it's such an important topic - I'm back and ready for a new year and new experiences!

I am so excited for 2023 and I am so excited to be back writing and creating content!

I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season and a fantastic end to 2022!
