Another season, another update to my daily makeup routine. To be honest this update to my makeup routine is mostly due to the fact I had to replace a significant amount of expired makeup but hey it was a good excuse to buy and try new products!
What I love about this makeup routine is that it still takes no time at all, but you can add to it to make it a little more glam if you've got plans! For me, it's perfect for a workday and then if I'm going out, I can touch up my eye shadow, change my lip color and I'm good to go!
This time around I upgraded the quality of my products, which also meant (for the most part) upping the price tag. That being said, since this look has been working so well for me, I've been wearing makeup more often, so it's worth upgrading my products.
Here's what I'm using...
💋 ZO Skin Health Daily Sheer Broad Spectrum SPF 50 or Alastin Skincare Hydratint Pro Mineral Sunscreen
On a day where I'm needing full coverage, I'll choose a sheer SPF to put under my foundation. I love this one because it's easy to still apply makeup and products without making your skin feel too heavy.
On days where I want a nice glow with less coverage, I'll reach for my tinted SPF. This one is great because it is easy to add a few makeup products but also looks fantastic if you only have time for SPF before you're out the door!
I never used to use a primer. I always felt it made my skin feel greasy or heavy, and I never saw any significant effects from it. But, I picked this one up at Sephora to try it out and fell in love! After wearing it all day in 80+ degree weather at my friend's wedding I was sold! It kept my makeup in place and gave my skin a natural glow before I even began applying my makeup! I bought the mini one to try it out, but I'll definitely be buying the full-size bottle when this one runs out!
One thing that was really important to me when I was buying new makeup products was that I try to purchase mainly clean brands. Now, I'm not perfect and everything on this list definitely isn't clean, but my foundation is and I'm obsessed!
I've been using the Milk Makeup cream blush for a while so I knew I liked the consistency and decided to try out the cream foundation. I love it! The stick makes it super easy to apply foundation all over my face without feeling like I'm applying too much at once! It's also super easy to add more in one area vs. another if you need!
I decided to purchase this in the shade Light because it matches my skin tone throughout the year. Even when I self-tan I find this is the best match; especially since I add a cream bronzer and a powder bronzer later on in my routine!
Hands down my favorite concealer! I've got it in the shade Light Sand. My favorite part of this is that it doesn't feel like I'm weighing my face down, even on days where I need more concealer than usual. Oh, and it's vegan!
I've been looking for a cream bronzer for a while! I love the dewy, natural look it gives so you can imagine how excited I was when I found this one! I picked up the shade Amber and it's been the perfect shade for that natural sun-kissed glow! It's super easy to apply with a beauty blender or a brush and it works great whether you add a powder bronzer on top or not! Plus, it's cruelty-free!
Some days I skip this step, but on days where I want an extra bronze look, I'll go over my entire face with this bronzer powder. It's lightweight and looks fantastic so most of the time I'm adding it before I run out the door. I picked this up in the shade Mallorca, which is one of the lighter shades and it's perfect for giving my face a little extra something on the days I really need it! And, it's vegan!
I've been using this blush for a while and I'm still in love with it! I'm still using the shade Werk and it's the perfect, subtle blush color for everyday wear! Don't forget, it's a clean beauty product as well!
Just like the bronzer powder, I skip this step sometimes (but not often). I like to use this to blend the cream blush and the top of my bronzer together and create a nice, natural look! I've got this one in the shade Exposed oh, and before you ask, it's made without parabens.
Rare Beauty is quickly becoming a staple in my makeup collection because I don't think I'll ever buy another highlighter! I've got this in the shade Enlightened - champagne but I want them all! It's super easy to blend with your fingers plus you can even mix it with other products if you want! I love how easy it is to apply and how long it lasts. Plus, I love that it's vegan!
This might be my favorite eyeshadow palette ever! It's got the glitter for nights where I want a bolder looking eye but it's got the prettiest shades for everyday, neutral wear! I picked up the Double Shot palette but I've got my eye on the Frosted palette as well. Yes, this is vegan too!
There's nothing I hate more than getting halfway through the day and having mascara all over your face. This waterproof mascara from Tarte is the only one I've found that doesn't smudge throughout the day. It's also one of the easiest waterproof mascaras to remove when I'm sick of wearing it. Don't worry, no parabens!
I'm not one to fill in my eyebrows but sometimes they just need a little help staying where they're supposed to. Cue the clear brow gel! I like this one because it's affordable and it fits in my bag if I need to pack it!
💋 Dior Addict Lip Glow and Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss or YSL Tatouge Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain
It depends on if I'm going for a glossy lip (Dior combo in the shade Rosewood) or a matte lip (YSL in the shade 26 Neutral Underground - Cool Mauve) but all of these live in my purse! I seriously don't think I'll ever switch lip products!
It may seem like a lot but I swear all together this look takes me maybe 10 minutes, 15 if I get distracted! I love how long-lasting it is and how easy it is to add to it if I need or want before going out!
